Accounts Assistant

We are looking for a proactive accounts assistant to join the administrative department.
This is an ideal opportunity for an AAT level 4 or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA candidate.

Working with the Finance Director, you will be involved with:

  • Posting of day-to-day transactions including purchase, sub-contract and sales invoices
  • Providing cover for preparation of weekly payroll
  • Supporting preparation of quarterly VAT returns, and management and statutory accounts
  • Assisting with the operation of the company’s Integrated Management System
  • Providing support and assistance to other departments, as necessary

Applicants should ideally have experience of working in a finance/accounts department and have a good level of Maths, English, and IT skills including Microsoft Excel. Further training will be provided on our specific software, but you should already be able to demonstrate a good understanding of transaction processing and the underlying principles.

In return we offer a competitive salary of £27,000 – £32,000pa (depending on experience/qualifications), pension and life insurance, assistance with ongoing study costs and a great working environment. There is also a potential profit-sharing bonus available after one full year.

CAD Draughtsman/ Setter Out:
The Benbow Group Ltd are looking to employ a Shopfitting/ Joinery Setter Out/ Draughtsperson to join our current team working on various prestigious shopfitting projects throughout the UK and Ireland for some of the UK’s top retailers and international watch brands.

The successful applicant should:

  • Have a bench joinery background.
  • Be able to work competently and efficiently with AutoCAD.
  • Be capable of producing full size working/ manufacturing drawings for the high-quality bespoke joinery items that we typically manufacture.
  • Produce manufacturing cutting lists from the drawings.
  • Produce detailed requisitions for the Chief Buyer to order in purchase items such as glass, stone, and ironmongery.
  • Have good organisation and communication skills.
  • Be able to work accurately and practically to meet deadline dates.
  • Have the ability to resolve challenges quickly with an awareness of cost implications.

A full UK driver’s license would be preferred but not essential.

The role is office based which is located alongside our manufacturing facility in Newton Abbot, Devon, within easy walking distance of the town centre and bus/train stations.

Bench Joiners:
We are seeking experienced Joiners to join our team based in our modern factory in Newton Abbot, working on high class projects for some of the most prestigious clients and brands throughout the UK and internationally.

39 hours per week.
Working hours – 07:30am to 16:15pm Monday to Thursday. 15:15pm finish on Fridays.
30 days holiday per annum including bank holidays.

Start date: TBC

The role would suit experienced joiners looking to work on high quality joinery projects and successful candidates will have excellent attention to detail, good working knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques and be a strong team player.

The role will encompass but not be restricted to the following tasks:
Making and fitting all types of joinery, for example; Cabinets/Drawers/Benches/Desktops/Displays/Signs/Frames/Showcases.
Interpreting and reading manufacturing drawings (CAD drawings) in order to ensure project success.
To attend all training required to maintain necessary certifications.
To maintain company image at all times.

Job type – Full time, Permanent

Salary: up to £35,000.00 per year (experience dependant) + Potential EOT profit related bonus after 1 year

Site Fixers/ Foreman :

We have vacancies for Site Fixers/ Site Supervisor/Foreman roles, to join our installation team in fitting out high end bespoke joinery projects around the UK and Ireland.

This is a full time Monday to Friday role with some weekend work and overtime as required to meet project deadlines. Occasional night work may also be necessary for some of our retail fit outs.

Successful applicants must:
Have good experience in joinery and carpentry.
Hold a valid CSCS card.
Be willing to travel.
Be flexible on working hours – occasional night work and weekend work may be required.
Be hard working, reliable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude towards co-workers and clients.
Have a good eye for detail and pride in producing quality work.
A full UK driving licence would be an advantage but not a necessity.

Apprenticeships: 
Apprenticeship schemes are very much part of the culture here at The Benbow Group and it is worth noting that nearly all of our current Board of Directors, Contracts managers, and Draughtsmen started their careers as apprentices, whether that be as a Joiner, Metalworker or Technician.
